>I was going to try out the easy classics, eg vertigo, tourist route, cornerstone rib,
Good choice. Vertigo is a great first route on the spires. Not too long. The first belay perch is one of my faves. Cornerstone Rib is well worthwhile. The Rock guide calls the last pitches loose. The previous guide calls the last pitch loose looking. The final rib is solid. No drama at all. Though from below it does look like it would be loose. Another option on a hot day is Rib and Gully doesn't have the awesome exposure that you get on Cornerstone Rib, but you don't get the sunburn either.
A few years back the NPWS office in Coona had a copy of the old (pre-Rock) guide which has more complete route descriptions and some topo sketches. They may have a copy at the Visitor's Centre in the park as well. If you phone up and ask nicely they may well let you have a good look at it.
