At the craigieburn shelter DOC's have a sign up saying you can only stay x amount of nights. But I've camped there for almost 3 weeks and DOC's didn't care at all. They're very nice. We left our tent set up the whole time. My tent has been munched by Kea's once and that was when we had some food in the tent. If you can leave your food in your car, last year our tent survived 3 weeks in Kea territory not even a scratch.
