I’m planning a trip this weekend to introduce my kids to real rock (they’ve only ever climbed indoors) and I’m looking for some advice re top roping anchor points in the Cathedral Ranges. I’ve read through the VCC Eastern Vic guide, and it seems there are some good top roping areas along the Wells Cave track and the Sugarloaf Boulders.
The guide mentions that there are good anchors for these areas, but given the guide was published 5 years ago I was wondering if that was still the case? Does anybody have any info one way or the other? Would slings and carabiners be sufficient?
Any other good top roping areas close to Melbourne? (preferrable East)
