sorry, didn't mean to sound facetious.

here's my top tip for uk climbing- wait 'til the day before you go, check the forecast THEN decide where to go.
As for all this negative talk about the grit being unclimable in summer- I've had so many good days cruising moderate stuff (and even fighting up harder stuff) in the summer sun on god's own rock. holding down slopey grit crimps might be out, but even then I've happily bouldered in yorkshire through summer.
as for the sheffield tourist scene....I just hope you can get off on cutlery.

ps. if the weather's utter shite, you can still climb in the dry at kilnsey and malham.
