So I've driven by the quarry out past Falls Creek a few times lately, but never had a chance to stop and have a look. It's on Basalt Hill not far from Langford's Gap, does anyone know anything about it?
I'm guessing there's not much there but on the off chance...

Been past it myself a number of times.
It usually had trucks actively working in it, so I never looked closer.
There is other climbing to be had in the vicinity of FC out in the gorge below the dam south of same, and over SE direction not far from one of the alpine huts.
My initial impressions are that you would want to be in the area for other reasons, as it did not seem worth making a special trip for...

Have walked around it and can assure you its only value would be to herd cattle over the edge.

Didn't think it was worth getting my hopes up for, however I'm still might to check it for the frozen stuff (and cow skulls) if I'm out that way this winter.
Cheers

Skip the quarry and head out to Strawberry Saddle, it's a small (10mt) cliff and it's nothing special but worth a grovel, for something different, there is some decent bouldering below the pretty valley pondage spillway also...take a fly rod too, some great trout fishing down there :-) Above the spillway you'll see some decent looking slabs, never got around to putting anything up but it has (limited) potential.
