Hi, I'm over from Ireland and am about to travel up the east coast , I only have my shoes with me but was just wondering where the best bouldering spots are anywhere between Melbourne and Brisbane. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure there has been a previous thread on this topic.
If you coming up the coast there is a crag Bittangabee. Never been there. Anyone know if there is bouldering potential? I'd be personally quite interested.
Inland the canberra region has some bouldering. The north black range imho is a very good crag. Granite in sub alpine forest. Best eastern state granite.
The Nowra region has some good stuff. Go to Cheesedale. This place has the most asthetic bouldering in the country. It makes the Grampians look plain butt ugly.
Wollongong, australias sheffield without all the pommy wankers. The northern end of South Beach is simply magnificent. You haven't climbed until you've done the Krondorf traverse. Imediately to the west of the "gong" is the mighty Mt Kiera. One of australias true mountains rising up out of the coastal plain. On its flanks is some good bouldering. Nitro Wall is a bit of a local Bas Cuvier.
Sydney. Well I think the bouldering in Sydney is over rated. There is some good stuff about though.
The Blue Mountains another great spot. Glenbrook gorge the place to go.
Port Stephans area. Go there.
Armidale area. Go there.

He's from bloody Ireland and you're sending him to Tassie? Just go to the gong and you won't be disapointed.

Armidale/New england granite is probably some of the best on the east coast. Yarrowyck, Gara Gorge and Stonehenge have some awesome stuff and loads of problems.

Agreed. But don't go there first otherwise you won't bother going bouldering anywhere else up the East Coast!
