regardless of what all the 'hardmen' have to say, toproping above your limit is a quick way to get strong. specially when you can only get out to the crag on weekends. cardio fitness will help your leading as well.
i find Tannin to be one of the most boring routes at Araps, but do laps on it for fitness cause it's close to camp, it's 28m long, there's always someone who wants to lead it, and there isn't a good anchor on top of morfydd for training. Squeakeasy is also long enough and has a proper anchor for doing laps.
i toprope squeeze chimneys and offwidths to work all those muscles you don't normally use and the cardio workout is great.
