Planning a trip to the Grampians for a few days next week. Starting Wednesday 21st leaving Sunday. Any suggestions on where to camp? Looking at doing some easy bouldering/climbing and walking. I know it's school holidays and looking for a spot that might not be that busy but I know that might be hard this time of year. Any help would be great!

Stapylton Campground would be fine. It's only uber crowded at Easter and Xmas.

We were there in May and camped at Boreang Campground; very peaceful, with heaps of wallabies lolling about on the grass. Has fireplaces, pit toilets and picnic benches but no showers.

Not really near any climbing there though... stuck in the middle of a swamp. Paddys Castle is sort of nearby but that is probably the worst crag in the Grampians.

If Stapylton is too crowded for you then you could try bush camping in the forest on the eastern side of the Halls Gap/Mt Zero Road opposite Goltons Gorge. It's at a guesstimate about 5km south from the Hollow Mountain carpark. PM if this makes no sense and i can send you a google map link!
