hi all, giving a rope away to a good home. It's a around 10-12 years old with about 6-12 months of use on it (Back in the day). Always stored in a box in a cupboard away from anything that could damage it.

The rope itself is a Roca (i think), 10 - 10.5m, red with black pattern

I'm getting rid of it because i got back into climbing and decided to buy a new rope, i'm never going to use this one again as i have no idea whether it's safe or not and i haven't been able to find another use for it.

So, if you want it you can have it. I'm in Melbourne working on Southbank. Let me know if you're interested and i'll bring it to work for pick up. Alternatively i'm happy to post to anywhere in Aus at the proud new owners cost.

Disclaimer: I have zero idea if this rope is safe, some people are saying ropes never break and i've even seen a study from someone who tested 30 year old ropes and found they were perfectly capable of holding decent falls. However, there's lots of people out there saying it's not safe as the ropes core deteriorates over time, for the sake of a couple hundred dollars i decided to simply buy a new rope and not worry about it. So, with that in mind, if you take this old rope and use it for climbing i wish you the best of luck... but i'm not offering any guarantee's so climbing on this rope is done so at your own risk.
