...when you drop your brand new number 5 bd nut (that you bought in new york for half the price you would've paid in the cheapest joint in her majesty's mucky kingdom) off the second pitch of sabre cut at dinas cromlech and you think "ah well it's gone" until you look down to see it's landed right next to your backpack at the base of the crag... which one would've thought (a) is not really fair game 'left-in-route" pro or (b) that any decent climber would just nick something sitting with everyone's gear down the bottom. but no, some bastard took it. if it's left up in a route it's fair game, if it's sitting with my backpack then that's very low behaviour.
