Yeah, Simon is this like a retail shop thing, or is it just you selling your rack or something? Cause Chockstone is not about advertising. I mean I've been deleting any SPAM forum messages as I identify them.

Hi Mike,
as I said in a previous forum item on 16/8 I used to own The Mill and Bogong Equipment. It is not a retail thing if it was I would be asking for twice the price, it is just the gear that I have left over and no longer need. You sugested that I put it up on the forum page at the time but if you now think that it is not appropriate then I am quite happy if you take it down.
I would sugest that you could potentially have a classifieds section, at the end of the day if climbers can get access to cheap gear it must be a good thing.

Simon, nar that's cool, leave it up. Some good price's there. You might edit it as items are sold.
The only thing I want to steer clear of is general SPAM, where some random retailer posts advertising. But yeah, fellow climbers looking to sell their rack, or in your case off loading a heap of gear in a non-retail sense, is something to support, because its of benefit to all. By the way, $75 for a wild country tech friend? That's a cost price isn't it?
The classifieds section is not a bad idea either. I'm starting to get a long list of things to add to the site. All good, I just need more time. I could just add a "Classifieds" forum, that would only take a few minutes. Anybody think that's a good idea?
(Edit: You'll now notice this topic appears in the new forum "For Sale").

Oh my GOOOOOOOOD.......how reasonably priced is this stuff (read cheap)..
if only I climbed more to actually justify the cost of bying some new gear.
Classifieds might be a good idea though mike, but the situation surrounding the selling of 2nd hand gear (only been used on the weekend, by lightweight novice climber who never fell) might rasie issues ...but the old adage of buyer Beware should apply.
No doubt some of the weridos here will start posting love for sale ads!! ;-)

Given how many sexually frustrated climbers used to hang out at The Mill on Monday Nights, which was the ladies night, it could be a good idea to put up a love page. Although I am not sure how many women read these pages.
On that note, Mike I have been amazed at how many phone calls I recieved last night and this morning. Certainly more people read these pages on a regular basis than I thought would. Congratulations on providing a bloody good site.

Ha! I can see it now... The Chockstone Desperate and Dateless Ball.
> ...amazed at how many phone calls I recieved
Think that might be more a product of your prices rather than high number of views, though we have breached the 88,000 hits mark for Chockstone, with the curve still on the rise.

phil it looked like simon only had the climbing gear listed.
to every one else.... simon seemed like a really nice guy, and all the gear he is selling is brand new, even has the tags still on it. i bought the roca tasmania 60m and it was still in its original coil/packageing. if any one is looking for cheep gear he is the guy to call.

You can say that again. I tryed the new bag again a couple of weeks after that, it was just as cold if not colder and it was sweet so i'm pretty happy with it.
Hey joe, remeber when you jumped out of your sleeping bag and almost hit the roof of the tent when i screamed :)
