You'ld have to pay me a lot more than $4500 to own another Kombi. I spent most of my time in the U.S
lying underneath mine, swearing.

they have character and scream of a more passive fun loving era that has past us by.
Every time I see one I want to put the song Hurdgy Gurdy Man on and think of whole summers spent doing nothing but pleasing myself!

Not going near my Kombi anymore now Bob Saki...
tnd -it's all about momentum - I can keep up the tail of most motorists through the Black Spur (windy, hilly stretch of road outside Melbourne). It's those head winds on the Hume that are the killer...

you've all lost your innocence for the industrial disease of cynicism, we really are in dire straits as a society when that creeps in
my original post does say pleasing.

LOL definitely not! They are a brick on wheels...
But once you get there it's luxury! No pegging tents at midnight. Just pop the top and pull out the bed...
In regards to Eduardo's comments. Kombi's are reliable if you take good care of them.

yep.
and this one has a new starter motor as well as being in great nick, so it starts reliably.
and the suspension is also really good, in that it is not too squeaky at night time.
and it has these cool home made curtains, and mozzie screen things.
and the fridge works! cold beers? yes please.
this kombi has had a great journey so far:
now its up to someone else to give it a spin...
the following photo is unrelated to this topic:
but it is interesting nonetheless.
(and was taken around the same time as the previous photo)
