[Ignore this post, the car is now taken care of]
[I thought I'd start a new post as I am now giving the car away... well almost]
I would hate to throw this car on the scrap heap so I am giving it away. BUT, sorry but there is a but...
you will have to pay for getting the roadworthy and rego (rego has to be payed at some stage though).
My mechanic quoted around $800 to get it up to scratch, so this puts it easily at half of its value.
Great first car or for climber, surfer or anyone who is generally poor!
The car:
Volvo 245L 1980 station wagon, automatic, light blue, very straight for the age with no dings or rust
(recently had two 5cm sized rust areas cut out, for the first time), runs very nicely. She cruises at
ease at 120km/h and just think, you'll never need to stumble into the pines at midnight and worry about
waking others by banging in tent pegs, just fold the seat down and crash in the back; I never took a
tent.
Unfortunately it's unregistered and this is probably what scares a lot of buyers off. I have now moved
over seas and can't really get it all taken care of. My brother is holding the car for me.
Email me (info 'at' frostell 'dot' com) if you are interested, or have other leads, and I'll put you onto my
brother who can show you the car (Brunswick, Melbourne).
[Picture, which is an old product shot, shows same model although mine is a baby blue and not
metallic, slightly different headlight styling and mine has a roof rack tray thingy]
