The only reason there is less money in it in Australia is our one sided, only see what is on television general public.
Diversity and pushing human boundaries is applauded overseas, in Aussie, only footballers, V8's and cricketers get a look in unless Olympics is nearby.

Australians throw bottles at cyclists, in Europe they are applauded and admired.

Australia at the moment really is a bunch of yobbo's, and the local TV panders to exactly that.

I do have hopes in that there is some diversity coming through in the younger ranks for the future though.
Having been exposed to more than just the local scene by the internet and a higher rate of travel, we may begin to evolve into a country that has beings that can see past their lounge room couch.
