The logic that says bike helmets are dangerous because they cause head rotation strikes me as nonsense.

The reason why abolishing the bike hemet law will save lives is because it will make cycling more pleasant and so more people will do it, and health will improve, and pollution will reduce. As a commuter cyclist, I wear a helmet on busy roads (where I feel vulnerable and police may be around) and take it off for relief when I get to an off-road bike track.

One of the greatest pleasures of cycling is the feeling of the wind in your hair. I take every opportunity I can to argue in Government that we are not taking cycling seriously until we fix this law. There is not a jurisdiction in the world that has high bike use that requires all cyclists to wear helmets.
