We ran up Rutger Hauer fast enough that I would have tempted to head back down and have a go at something else, but the idea of dropping off the top again in the conditions put pay to that. Turned out to be a good decision given the storm that rolled in soon after. For reference, the abseil really is a full 50 m long - even with stretchy ropes there was only a couple of metres left by the time I got to the next rap station, so in normal conditions knots would be very wise if you only have 50's.
