Hi all
From Qld and have camped at these spots before but am wondering if these spots get really full over NYE and the first 2 weeks of January. I don't want to drive down and have nowhere to sleep :(

Quite a few long weekends ago I was camping in the centre patch of grass with a whole bunch of old (skool) bushwalkers. Must've been at least 10 tents jammed in that small area. Around 1am a car came around the loop smoking up the tyres and bogans hanging out yelling. After about 30 seconds one of the older fellas just cracked it, ran out of his tent in his boxers or so and hurled some pots at the car. It smoked up once more and straight lined it outta there. Not sure what the damage to the car was but there was a lot of clattering!

Lara, If you do stay at Mt York it might be advisable to NOT camp in the centre of the turning circle. Consider a spot slightly off the road, in the bush behind the so-called Bus Shelter. It's more secluded and less visible to 'bogans' therefore less likely to attract their unwanted attention.A nicer 'ambience' as well.
