I started climbing about three years ago and it seeped into my soul. Nowadays I hear myself saying that I am a climber, rather than a shit kicker at work or whatever else my job was at the time. I think describing oneself in terms of the thing that drives and empassions you is a much better idea than giving a description of your job that you hate and just do for the money so you can buy a new rope.

Climbing is a lifestyle sport that can truly suck you in, if you are susceptible.

It's fairly demanding as a sport - and creates a lasting impression in your brain. I often find myself going through crux sequences in my mind, when someone is boring the crap out of me with some mindless blather I imagine sticking the deadpoint to slopey hold and then getting my feet up again. The result is a smile, and the really boring person then thinks I'm nice and comes and talks to me more often.
