Everyone benefits from the gift of civilisation – health, education, warm blankets etc. That it was and is abused is unfortunate indeed.

You initiated the quote. I’m just pointing out that running away does little to make the most of our predicament of a positive existence together.

My understanding is that we all deserve hell because none of us, despite how good we think we are, can or will ever live up to the golden rule, or any of his rules. And that’s exactly why it was given - or at least why Jesus gave it - to show us our failing. So how can anyone avoid hell? That’s why God came and died on the cross.
