A lot of talk here from people without babies...I have one. She first went to Millenium at 8 weeks of age. She has since been to a bunch of crags in the gramps and defied all logic by sleeping like a baby at thommos on a crowded saturday arvo. She is now 7 months and people at work are horrified when I show them where she's been, but then again, they like their lives wrapped in a hefty dose of cotton wool. Sure, I could tumble carrying her down some steep track but it's a risk I manage, and if people object to it or to my daughter at the cliff they can f&ck off. But if people see a potential hazard that I haven't and tell me I welcome it. Common sense is a good thing. And if you don't like her rare bouts of crying...well...I've seen far worse tantrums from people hanging on bolts than any kid could throw!
Of course, when she's mobile and a 2 year old horror show I look forwards to being jealous of all the child-and-care-free people around me and use the crag as my baby sitter...
