1) Setting up the belay at the top of the third pitch of Judgement Day, kept hearing this strange chattering/squeaking sound. Decided to investigate, and saw a tiny, but very sharp, set of teeth glowing away in the back of the deep vertical crack, about 5 cm behind one of my nut placements. Turned out to be a small bat, rather irate at being woken up at such an early hour (about 4 pm).

2) Lazing away at the bottom of Smoked Banana at Frog Buttress as some other members of the group topped out, was jolted out of my reverie by a loud rumbling sound and rather a lot of shouting. Needless to say, by the time the rock landed (about the size of a large fridge), I was quite a long way away. Literally made the ground shake, put quite an impressive dent in the path, and kept bouncing downhill for at least 30 seconds.
