to the OP: it depends on what kind of climbing you do. as far as true crack climbing (frog buttress), chin ups won't help too much, but if that's all you can do, then daily chin ups will help. your triceps and lats are used in jamming cracks, not your biceps or forearms, so alternating, single arm pull downs on a lat machine work really well. for crimpy climbing (araps or blues), multiple sets of reverse curls with light weights and elbow rotation curls will help your forearms stay strong and healthy. for overall fitness, trekking uphill with a pack using poles to minimize knee stress and build triceps, overextended crunches on a yoga ball, and stationary slacklining are the ticket.
