Thanks for all your advice!

My problem (from a selfish point fo view) is that I DON'T want them shut down, or to get anyone into trouble... I just want it fixed and safe - for me and everyone. And the next closest wall to me is 300kms away! But of course i feel obligated to keep everyone safe - and especially all the kids that use it. So your approach seems wise, and you are right - putting things on paper rather than verbally raising them seems very sensible.
