The guide book convention for Booroomba is usually to refer to the start of the climb as the 'start', and the first belay is the belay at the end of the first pitch, etc. This is the similar to referring to the ground floor of a building as 'ground floor' and the next floor up as first floor; however the US version tends to refer to the ground floor as the 'first floor'....
