Have built myself a training wall in the garage, but only have an old matress to fall onto, which means I cant climb as hard as I would like. Anyone got any ideas on foam or crash mats to use under an indoor wall, or where to source them?

Cheapest solution is go hunt out some more mattressess. Close to council pick up day is the ideal hunting season as many mattressess magically appear on the streets at this time. Just choose wisely and avoid those that are damp or have too many suspicious stains. If you want to make them a little less skanky you can cover with a thick tarp.

If you ask around enough people you are sure to find some old unwanted mattresses, especially since it costs money to get rid of them. 2nd option is op shops, they always have them. If you need a whole bunch you could probably try a mattress shop, they often have deals to take away your old mattress for free when they deliver a new one.
I have found two mattresses thick to be plenty for a woody, although the really cheapo ones are bit light weight and you tend to bottom out. I have a couple queen sealy postupedics which offer plenty of padding, so I would say go the heavier more expensive ones.

i'd jump on this! I have some old gym mats - they are FAR more functional and compact than mattresses
