Hey the philosphy of the times is "i want everything and i want it now" Hence we love crags like Araps or camels or werribee where once at the crag there is a couple of footsteps seperating one quality line from another...i love this too however i think sometimes it's important to not take things for granted that require a little more work. I love what CJ wrote about the subtleness of the Youies, i also used to think the youies sucked until i really started to suss it out and find gems like a question of ethics, grimulace, silverknight etc. So often we criticise out of ignorance. People travel too the youies and go to big rock or the nearest easiest crag too find and then go o this sucks. Get out to north west outcrop, eastwern walking track etc. Break out of your "i want everything and i want it now" attitudes and enjoy climbing for the wholeness of it, the intrinsic value of the walk in, the smells, the shape and texture of the rock formations...i know i'm raving on like some old hippy but sometimes i think in climbing we can be so focused on the tick that we lose sight of all the other good things going on while we are out there. Observation not destination...
