'Maybe this should be a no rescue area' Pardon? Who ever heard of that? Can you
define the boundaries of such an area?

Hmmm... The walk to the Ruined Castle from the Golden Stairs is very popular, due to
views and diverse vegetation passed. It's overnight extension over Mt Solitary and up
Kedumba Walls to Wentworth Falls is also well known, and it is this that David Iredale
was doing at the time of his demise in December 2006. The deceased was found on the
Eastern flank of Mt Solitary.
IIRC, a bloke went missing while walking alone on the Katoomba to Kanangra Walls
walk not that long afterwards, he was found deceased. An accountant from the NW
suburbs of Sydney whose family asked for details to be suppressed. Which, in some
ways is disappointing, so as others may learn from any perceived errors.
