So - we were there over Easter for the "Pig on a Spit" night, and being the un-organised bunch we are, didnt reserve a bash at the cob roller. Bought a meal from the in house spread. All the tables were reserved for the swine eaters, but since the banquet had not started took up residence on a table reserved for "Johnson". Not thinking that Johnson would mind sice there was nowhere else to eat other than the floor and the pig was a while away, we decided to take up residence for a short while. The dragon came out from the lair breathing fire & brimstone and said "Are YOU Johnson" - knowing full well we werent. "This table is reserved for Johnson" she barked. "You cant sit here". You got to picture the scene - Since every table in the pub had a "reserved" ticket on it, and absolutely every table had nobody sitting on it, it seemed quite ludicrous that we couldnt eat an in house grub on these tables. She then made a point that our brown bottles couldnt be placed on the empty tables either whilst we were playing pool - as they were reserved also. Then the straw that broke the camels back - or my girlfriends for that matter. After the punters had eaten all their meals and the tables were cleared, my girlfriend sits down on one of the seats and reads a book. She had her feet on another chair. The dragon came roaring out and loudly chastises her to get her feet off the chair, and mutters something to the tune about a dirty little bush rat and get back to the pines. Phew - the things you have to go through to have some grub and drink a lager !!
