Ben Lomand looks fantastic, but unfortunately I have never got past the first pitch of a climb due to both bad weather and a dodgey old hand written guide. Personally I have never really liked the climbing in the gorge. There are definitely some good climbs dotted around and it has great convenience being right in the heart of Launceston. Worth climbing there if you are in Launceston but for my money I thought the climbing was much better along the North Esk, in particular Grap Furoh.
There was another thread that I wrote a more comprehensive review of my experiences in Tassie. Overall fantastic place and particularly good for trad climbing and adventure routes. |
