I am surprised that noone mentioned the best scene of all from Vertical Limit... the bit where the chick does a face-out sideways dyno placement of a cam - as someone who's not very good at dyno's I am in total awe. Its something I've been practicing since then (along with double dyno-ing up icy ledges (a la Stallone)). I find it comes in very handy for... ummm, no, nothing's springing to mind...

Also, legend has it that the climbing shots in the Eiger Sanction were shot at a quarry somewhere in the UK... and if you look carefully you can see the graffiti. Now that WOULD be extreme - nipping 1/2 way up the N face of the Eiger in winter just to tag a bit of rock.

And lastly, the "Princess" movies - the Princess Bride was filmed at Robin Hoods Stride - little bouldering area in the Peak district. Yup, you can see the chalk in the background :) And the Princess Diaries had a completely random scene where Princess + Mum were at Mission Cliffs wall in San Fran. I guess they were supposed to be really whacky or something. I particularly liked the wonder-belayers - i.e. they walked up to the bottom of the wall, tied in & they were on belay! How much do you think you have to pay for a service like that?
