well the Amish, and I suspect Quakers too if they're like them, have chosen to stick generally with a mid-17th century lifestyle, but they do use electricity and gas. but maybe half points for those groups, they're a rare example of a large enough community with the commitment to live pre (or semi) industrialised, even if they do still depend on a fairly extensive trade network.
anyway thats not the point, if people want to be as self supporting as possible good on them, but its virtually impossible to separate yourself from the bigger industrial complex so ppl should appreciate their dependence on the whole picture
