depends a lot on the company i guess, if you go for the larger ones it'll be like any other retail arrangement, shuffling numbers about expenses, sales, etc etc. maybe there's a plus in some places that some of the people you work with will have similar interests, however there are also limitations about working in areas that people see as interesting, you get the "dream factory" effect where conditions and wages are lower simply because more people are drawn to the idea of working with something that relates to their interests.

i also think it will be more difficult in a business sense because people are drawn to get involved in the industry from personal interests when it might not be especially practical as a business model. even if thats not the place you're working in you may end up with more competition from more people trying to cut out their piece of a fairly small pie.
