Vic Ranges - Another Steep Price Increase 23-Jan-2004 At 6:38:36 PM VIC RANGES
Message

Hi All,

Reference: What is happening at Victoria Ranges from Vicranges Management

I would like to take this opportunity to let everyone at Chockstone know a little more about what is happing at Victoria Ranges.

Price Rise - As you all know there has been a price rise and we apologise for any inconvenience that it may have caused. We are passionate about climbing and could quite easily turn our back on regular climbers and survive on walk ins. We want to keep our regular customers and offer a facility that is both enjoyable and available to improve your skills. We will endeavour to offer regular climbers some new and interesting changes in future times. The bottom line is, we needed to raise our prices. However, to lighten the impact we have acknowledged our regular climbers and offer some incentives to purchase memberships and save money in various respects.

Memberships – Three, six and twelve month memberships will save regular climbers precious money, purchase gear at great discounts and allow us to focus on further development of specific equipment for the regular climbing groups.

The new prices are-

Discount Price* Full Price

3 months $215 $310
6 months $358 $448
12 months $790 $650

* Discounts are for students, concessions and VCC members

If you are a regular climber the memberships are a great way to save. In addition you will be eligible for a 33% discount, at our Pro Store (some conditions apply in order to keep prices down), 3% surcharge will apply for the use of credit card for any purchase.

Our shop should be operating by about the end of February. We will be stocking top brand, HB, Wild Country, Edelrid, Kong, La Sportiva, plus may more. We will tell you more as time approaches about further special deals. If you are interested in purchasing now contact me and let me know.

VR need more experienced staff - We are looking for some new climbing staff for permanent and casual positions. People interested should have customer service values, be a keen indoor and outdoor climber, and are approachable with good communication skills. You will need to be available for at least (8) eight hours a week. Times that are available for this sort of work range between the hours of 10am to 10pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 6pm weekends. You will receive free climbing for you and your partner, staff discount on gear and work in a great industry. Please forward all CV’s and questions to; Attention - Richard (Sticky) Dale via e – mail: vicranges@bigpond.com.au

New Bouldering Challenges - As I hope you all know we are fabricating the new bouldering cube off site at the moment and it is planed to have it installed by the end of February. We are after some more mattresses to pad out the new wall and replace some of the old ones. If you have any clean mattress that we could use please let me know. Depending on the amount and quality we could trade climbing for them.

Climbing Holds - We have all ready had one delivery of new climbing holds this year and will be receiving more in the near future. These holds are being specifically purchased for YOU and dedicated to those routes where you frequent the most.

Competitions – We are keen as we have done in the past to host more comps here, including but not limited to; in house, state and national levels. We will let you know on this website of all coming comps for you to participate in.

Sponsorships are an important ingredient in these events, so if you know any company or product that would be willing to get involved please let us know as soon as possible. We will endeavour to hunt some sponsors for prizes for these upcoming comps.

I hope everyone has had a good Christmas break and is ready for a great New Year of climbing and competitions to be run at Victoria Ranges.

Having read all of your comments on the website we are keen to please the majority knowing that we won’t please all but we will give it a go. If you wish to give us suggestions we will look at everyone and hopefully within time respond with action.

Please remember that this is a business that must survive by an injection of money by patrons. We are focussing on the sport of climbing and its future. Work with us and we can offer a more exciting and challenging venue and service.

Safe climbing and have fun!

Kind Regards,
Victoria Ranges
