went down the sth coast for the easter long weekend. went into the budawangs hoping to check out some walls from a distance but it was all foggy damn it!

carpark to the bottom of the first wall of the castle was 1 hour with a daypack putting in some decent pace. Wouldn’t not be an easy walk with a full rack to get to the bottom of the second tier in my book.

i kept bumping into a ranger and eventually picked his brains on climbing. his opinion (and he is a climber) in an nutshell - go for it as long as you don’t bolt anything.

he also told me there were some overhanging 20+ bolted routes at a plcae called little forest, kind of NE of the castle. near porters creek dam. anyone know anything about this place and whether there are some mid-teen trad routes around there. i figured if it is bolted it has to be easily accessible.
