Vic Ranges - Another Steep Price Increase 8-Jan-2004 At 5:37:42 PM dodgy

I also work in the outdoor biz, and used to promote VR because of location, range and quality of routes and bouldering and PRICE. Simply put, I can't do that anymore. They used to have 4 (I think) regular routesetters, I think they have 1.5 now (plus volunteers) and the price is the same as the others, so apart from the location I would have to give the prize to Altona (for the quality (and height) of the routes...)
Rapper, I understand you are concerned for your job (fair enough), but it is the nature of the market that with each price increase a few customers will stop using your product or service. A prime example being cigarettes. And it seems that at a certain point the price increase will be perceived as being "too much" and a large part of your customer base will leave or go elsewhere, judging by the posts on this forum Vic Ranges has gone past this point.
From my observations it is almost unheard of for a business to then step back and say "where did the customers go?"; and revert to their old pricing (and get their customer's back. (It's perhaps too embarrasing?) Look at what happened to the Mill..
Interesting that Bracksy & Co. realised they weren't getting punters into the new museum at $14, so they dropped it to $6 and people will go for a look.
Maths... 100 punters at $10 = $1000, 20 punters at $16 = $320 (this IS what happens)
