Stars on new routes |

I like to put stars on new routes if I think they are worth it. Generally I try to compare the climb to a similar climb of the same grade that earns stars, eg. at Tenneriffe I used Black Hill as a referance for similar rock type, climb length and travel distance from Melbourne. I also try to get others (thanks Aaron and Alison) to check the route.
I think that if I don't add the stars who will? As discussed there is little verification/feedback on new routes so if the first ascent description doesn't add a star then it is likely to stay that way for a long while. I like the 'hollow star' approach as it indicates that it may be a good route but needs verifying. |
