Here's a lazy idea for all those lazy January office workers. (others can join in if they must) Nominate your favourite belay. It can be the most comfortable belay on a choice climb or the worst kind of hanging belay on a ball-tearing tear jerker. I'll start the ball rolling with my fave scenic belay - the top of the second pitch on Epaminondas at Mt Difficult (Gramps). Its astride a large chockstone with your feet in the air 90 or so metres above the treeline and the crag is about 100 meters above the valley floor. Breathtaking. If you want to digress perhaps worst belays that went wrong as a side topic.
