I want a rematch with the Flight of the Phoenix ... has anyone been to the Warrumbungle is mid March ... will I melt?

Possibly. I climbed Out and Beyond on 12 March, 2005. Temperature in Coona was about 32 degrees. I melted...

Im out there every other weekend,March i would bank on being >30, if you could hang out for april it would be more of a sure thing,if you catch the south-westerly breeze its Great!

The problem with Bluff Mountain is that it cops full sun until mid-afternoon, and there's nowhere to hide. Pick a cloudy day or take a sun umbrella (I'm serious). And lots of water.

And take a rain coat for when a storm rolls in over the top. it can go from 30+ to hypothermic quick, wait I believe there is an insitu pile jacket at the base of Pheonix.

Hmmm.... bubs arrives in April so cant go then. Will have to create new thread 'Blue Mountains in Mid March'!
