I agree with the comment about helmet cams being over done a little.

The hero3 is interesting cause it comes with a couple of different mounts and is very small and water proof. therefore you would take in places and use it when i wouldnt take the DSLR. It can be mounted on your helmet, bike, front of your kayak, in the canopy of your paraglider, on the wing of your hanglider, on your wrist looking back at you, or whatever. or used hand held. It comes with a bunch of different mounts.

Seems like a fun way to share the experience. Sure it isnt going to cut it for the big screen but for you tube etc. it look fun and cheap. and is very easy to operate (ei give you almost no options).

Agreed the grigri isnt the most efficient for long hauls but is very versatile for hanging around i found.
