Are you kidding? Sounds like the best time to go (weather permitting)! 15 months after moving to Melbourne, I still reckon AFL is an advertising gimmick. I mean if almost 100,000 Melbournites think that last Friday night's game is as good as it gets, then living in Melbourne is starting to get depressing...
Edit: Just checked the forecast and it isn't looking good. Maybe take up knitting or tiddly-winks but don't whatever you do be suckered in by the marketing hype of the AFL...

On current form the forecast suggest it won't actually rain at all. 70% chance of 1-5mm means no rain and the lower predictions for Sat and Sun mean not even the slightest chance of rain.

Unfortunately I would have to agree with you, although it was nice to have to cancel my trip to the Grampians this morning because of the rain.

My partner and I reckon that Bom Victoria is the training ground for meteorologists in Australia. One thing you can take as given is that whatever they predict - that wont happen.

Actually I have to apologise cause this was at least close to correct. Very windy and the occasional hail and rain. At least 5mm has fallen and maybe as much as 10mm in patchy rapidly moving showers.

I can confirm. Just got back from a week at Araps and the weather was foul. Hailed while I was belaying Steve through the last pitch of D-Minor, rained at the top of Muldoon. Was generally miserable.
Get home to the Blueys, and it's 28 and clear as a bell!
