Heres a theory I once read, open for dispute People who practice " extreme " sports , actually produce less adrenallin in their bodies than the average joe, hence the need to place themselves in risk situations to stimulate their adrenal glands to work. This is why you find mr average joe dumbfounded as to why you would want to be up on that cliff, jumping out of a plane, or skiing down that chute off the side of the aguille de midi. Mr Joe is quite happy at the local golf club or gardening, where as anyone with a deficient amount of natural adrenallin would go nuts gardening, and is always planning the next adrenallin outbust. Does this make gym climbers the equivalent of lawn bowlers?
