JohnK, a great question, and to M10 there are a lot of people in the climbing world who do care about this stuff, it's part of climbing!

There seem to be alot of bullsh*t posts like M10's going up by people who I suspect aren't real climbers (they wouldn't post such crap otherwise)... on a side topic I had a great one the other week.... I have been climbing and mountaineering for about 9 years now (not long compared to alot of others out there) and I had a sport climber who hardly leads and only climbs the massive (not) 18m cliffs at kangaroo point give me a big lecture about the dangers of lead climbing....he's been climbing for 8months, is about 10years younger than me and thinks cause he can dog a grade 23-24 on top rope he's the world's best climber (and tells everyone about it)... there seems to be so many of these types of these people in climbing now days :( I'd love to take these guys on a mountain on a kinfe edge ridge or an exposed ice face and watch them crap themselves let alone be in a position to bag out someone's question on first attempts on everest!!! IMO, if ure gonna post bullsh*t answers like M10, then just keep it to yourself!!!

To answer your question John, I'm not sure. I did read a while ago about two guys doing the traverse (http://discovery.blogs.com/everest/), but I can't remember if they were aussie or not sorry.... if you do find out i'd love to hear about it!
