So Bowens and the Freezer are not sport climbing areas!

It'll take you 30 mins to get to Hartley Vale from the car with your granny ankle! Just incase anyone is unsure with the geography of HV, the first climb is 10m from the car!

My 10c worth is this.

Trad is placing gear, sports is clipping bolts!

Old school trad is from the floor up, placing gear and picking out shrubs. big approach shoes used for the climb too.
With the intro of rock shoes and advanced techniques, the boundries are getting pushed and people are now scoping out routes first, working out where to place gear, (and in some cases pre placing the gear).

Times have changed and so have peoples ethics. Doesn't make it right, or wrong. It's all about getting out there and having a go
