"The Mathematics and Statistics Department invites all to this
year's free public Behrend Memorial Lecture by Stuart Whittington,
University of Toronto, Department of Chemistry
>From string and garden hoses to molecules such as DNA, long
linear, flexible objects have the tendency to self-entangle. What are
the implications? How are they dealt with at a cellular level?
Professor Whittington will explore both the mathematical and
practical implications of random knotting.
