Not sure if they were even climbers, but whoever was responsible for the school group with the white bus that was camping at the North camprground over the easter weekend -

um - thanks.

The group as a whole wasn't obnoxious, didn't annoy anyone and seemed to be well behaved and respectful. (Geez, they behaved better than most of us other climbers). Didn't see any at the crags, but they were a credit to whoever they belonged to at the campground. More power to you!

I think that the Ranger(s) also need to be congratulated.
I know for a fact that they have made a concerted effort to get school groups to stick to good behaviours and not disturb the other people that camp at the Pines and surrounds. Looks like it's working.
If anything, it was a few climbers over the Easter weekend that decided not only to set up their tents at 1.00am Friday morning but also to have a full blown conversation for the next 30 mins at the top of their voices whilst banging in half a dozen tent stakes on the hard ground with total disregard to everyone else. Guys and gals when turning up at Araps really late please treat others like you like to be treated. Keep it down and save it for b/fast! (sorry, last bit off topic).

Amen.

I was camped near them and I think I was noisier than they were.

They were year 10 from Canberra I think?

They were climbing too.

Yes I was down in the "lower gums" as well. The behaviour was good.

The only negative comment was their pre-dawn start on the Monday morning - sitting around talking loudly as though it was just after-dinner, oblivious to those trying to sleep around them.

I have woken in bizzaro world. Drunken obnoxious climbers are supposed to keep school boys/girls up and no one should complain about that. Obnoxious drunken climbers are supposed to keep everyone up including goody two shoe climber types. So get out the bagpipes a carton of beer and keep everyone awake. I swear you'll climb better for it.
