Fair enough Jules, point taken. Still my experience has been that wherever we make it easier for people to access environmentally sensitive areas such as NPs, the greater the damage eventually caused, rubbish left, etc... The harder it is for people to access areas, the longer the walk in, the more effort needed, the fewer the visitors, the less the rubbish, etc. Guess it's all about balance. As I climber, I might object to such development. As an occasional tourist/visitor, I might really appreciate these walkways and handrails. Where do we draw the line? Who stops us loving these areas to death? Should we just keep away from really sensitive areas (eg. Wollemi pine preserve?) Ah yes, and do you think we really can assume Parks has done an REF (and would they really follow it anyway if it adcised against such construction?)
