It's generally assumed (at least in the clothing industry) that females have shorter arms (relative to body height) than males, but their legs are longer (one of the great joys). I find it interesting that climbing seems to be a sport where the sexes (overall) are very evenly matched, as one physical or phsycological advantage seems to be nicely balanced by another. I think at the top end there is only one or two number grades between the hardest climb done by each sex, and remembering that Lynn Hill was the first Person to free The Nose on El Capitan, and she is 150 cm tall... |
