So far it looks like we'll be flying over on a sunday, and looking at getting a bus to Mt Cook on the monday morning. Intercity seem to be about the only mob who run a non 'sightseeing' bus service to Mt Cook. $40 each way. That's booking early to get a non-flexible ticket. Someone suggested booking at the last minute and getting a discount? I'm thinking I don't want to take that risk - I'll probably book the return bus too. Hope the weather holds out for a troop out down the Tasman Glacier!

Does anyone know wether Pak N Save would be open on a Sunday avo? We'll only have a small gap on Sunday avo/evening to do our shopping.

To give you an idea of what we're up to, a mate and I who have between us a couple of guided trips to NZ, have decided to do it ourselves now that we have the grounding. Pretty damn excited about it really! The general plan is to fly up the Tasman, probably stay in Kelman Hut, attempt a couple of the easier peaks around that area, then if we're doing well and weather is holding out have a crack at Ellie du Beumont. Then walk out via the Tasman - an experience that I want to try at least once!

If anyone has any suggestions/comments I'd love to hear them.
