Christchurch to Mount Cook Village |

When I caught the bus it was about $45 from Chch to Twizel then you can hitch up the road to Cook Village. You have to stock up on food before you go (go pack 'n' save) because the closest decent supermarket is about 2 hours away in Timaru (there are no food shops in Cook Village). I think the ski planes cost about ~$500 total for a three seater and ~$900 for a six seater and you can organise these when you get there. They only fly when the sky is clear so they can see the glacier they're landing on. |
