"Heatherlie Track
A fire is currently burning approximately 8km north of Halls Gap and travelling in a southerly direction. The fire has entered a 2002/03 fuel reduction burn site located north of last year’s Mt Lubra fire site. There is currently no immediate threat to Halls Gap with these pre-burnt areas providing a useful buffer. DSE and CFA fire crews continue to work hard to contain the fire in the fuel reduction site area and are being assisted by machinery and three fixed wing bombers.

The Mt Zero Road is closed between Roses Gap Road and the north of Halls Gap town. Pines Road and Vines Creek Road are also closed. Road users are advised that visibility maybe reduced.

Weather conditions in the area continue to remain severe with temperatures currently at 30 degrees and winds tending N/NW at 30-35km/hr with gusts up to 55km/h. A cooler change is expected later tonight, with strong winds tending S/SW.

Laharum
The fire 4km SE of Laharum in the northern area of the Grampians National Park has been CONTAINED. The cause of the fires is currently under investigation. DSE crews are continuing to work on active areas of this fire.

Troopers Creek Campground, Jimmy and all the Mt Difficult walks including Longpoint Fireline, Mt Difficult Summit, Briggs Bluff, Tilwanda Falls and Beehive Falls are still close to visitor until further notice. People driving on the Roses Gap Road are advised to drive slowly and be aware of fire vehicles and crews."
